- Walking is by far the most common way that respondents expect to travel for leisure; 84% of the sample will do so at least weekly and 37% regularly (at least four days a week).
- Half of the sample expect to cycle at least weekly for leisure; just under a fifth will do so more than four times a week (16%).
- Whilst a majority of respondents plan to use a private vehicle for leisure trips at least weekly (65%), this is much lower than the proportion planning to walk (84%).

Driving a private car or van is also a popular mode of transport for leisure trips, although at a lower level, where 65% plan to do so at least once a week.
