Methodology

The survey was predominantly quantitative and launched online on 14th December 2021. It was open until 31st January 2022, and was promoted through the following marketing and communication means:

  • Portsmouth City Council social media platforms
  • Letters to residents and businesses in the local area
  • Portsmouth City Council email marketing distribution lists
  • Media release encouraging participation
  • Direct engagement with businesses

Purpose(s)

This survey sought to engage with residents of Portsmouth to gather feedback on proposed plans to improve bus priority and walking and cycling routes in three key areas in Portsmouth:

  • Marketway and Unicorn Junction
  • Isambard Brunel Road and Commercial Road
  • Lake Road

Response rate

In total, 579 people interacted with the City Centre and Lake Road routes survey.
