Summary
  • A fairly similar proportion of children and young people are aged 7-9, 10-12, and 13-15 – around one fifth of this year’s sample respectively (22%, 21% and 20%).
  • Just under a fifth are aged up to six (19%), and smaller proportions are 16-18 years old and 19-25 years old (12% and 5% respectively).
  • Overall, the findings are similar to the age profile of the previous parent and carer surveys except for 16-18 year olds being over-represented this year.
  • The comparison with the School Census 2021 data shows that this year’s sample is broadly representative in terms of age.
