- Overall, nearly a quarter of parents report that the School Street scheme trial changed how their children travel to or from school (23%)
- This increased to just over a quarter for parents for St Jude’s (26%) but drops to less than one in ten parents for Bramble (9%)
- Travel methods for some parents ‘dropping off’ and ‘picking up’ their children from St Jude’s changed, with a significant decrease in the use of ‘cars’ for child ‘drop offs’, 75% pre-trial and 17% during) and ‘pick ups’ (86% pre-trial and 17% during)
- There is a noted increase in the amount of ‘walking’ taking place, with ‘drop offs’ going from 42% pre-trial to 52% during trial, and ‘pick ups’ going from 36% to 61%
- Another significant increase is for the proportion of parents utilising ‘park and stride’, going from 0% of this cohort travelling by this method for ‘drop offs’ and ‘pick ups’ pre-trial to 30% of ‘drop offs’ and 17% of ‘pick ups’ during trial
- Whilst a comparison was made on behalf of respondents from Bramble it is difficult to draw usable conclusions due to the small sample size
