Summary
Overall, the majority of respondents ‘strongly’ support the continuation of the scheme (56%). However, there was a significant decrease in the level of ‘strong’ support between Wave 1 (74%) and Wave 2 (43%).
21% of respondents believe the School Streets trial changed how their children travel. For parents that reported change, there is a large decrease in car usage to school (from 64% pre-trial to 20%) and from school (72% to 21%).
Over half of all respondents with children attending the trial schools have downloaded the Pompey Monster’s Stomp to School Challenge via the GoJauntly app (52%). 61% of those who downloaded it said it has encouraged their children to use more active travel methods.
Most respondents (83%) are ‘very likely’ or ‘likely’ to recommend the challenge to others across all schools.
