• Projects to make the city green (e.g. encouraging tree and wildflower planting, community gardening and ‘in bloom’ projects) comes top in terms of how to create a lasting legacy with 71% selecting
• Also popular, with 65% selecting, are projects to support young people (e.g. working with businesses to create more opportunities for work experience, and to help raise aspirations) and projects to encourage local people to be healthier and happier (e.g. swimming, walking, cycling and accessible fitness challenges, free access to sport and leisure facilities)
• At least half of respondents like all the ideas for how to create a lasting legacy

Age

16-24 year olds are less interested in the ideas for creating a lasting legacy than other age groups except for projects to support young people and projects to encourage equity and respect.

Ethnic group

Those from an ethnic minority are more likely than those from a White background to like projects to support young people and to encourage equity and respect in the city. Those from a White background are more likely to be interested in projects to make the city greener.

Children in household

Households with children show higher levels of interest in projects to support young people, education and local communities coming together, as well as encouraging local people to be healthier and happier.

Postal district

Residents living in PO2, PO3 and PO6 are particularly interested in projects to support young people, projects to make the city greener and projects to encourage local people to be healthier and happier.
