Purpose and lawful basis for processing

Our purpose for processing your personal data is to seek your views on the accessibility of the transport network in Portsmouth.

The lawful basis we are relying on to process your personal data is article 6(1)(e) of the UK GDPR, which allows us to process personal data when this is necessary for the performance of our public tasks in our capacity as a local authority with responsibility for ensuring accessibility of public transport.

What we need

If you are responding to our consultation we’ll need your postcode and any other personal data you choose to provide in your response to the consultation questions, including you age, gender, ethnicity and disability information.

What we do with it

We will use your responses to help shape council policies and planning of accessible public transport, and to improve our services.

We will publish a summary of the consultation responses and, in some cases, the responses themselves. Published responses will not contain any personal data.

This consultation is being conducted in partnership with 2CV and your responses will be shared with them. They will be processing this information on behalf of the council for the same purpose. For further information about their processing of personal data you can read their privacy notice.

How long we keep it

The consultation period is Tuesday 30 November 2021 to 11.59pm on Sunday 2 January 2022. We’ll keep the information you provide for 12 months.

Portsmouth City Council is the controller for the personal data you provide. Contact details for our data protection officer can be found in the council’s data protection privacy notice.

If you are unhappy with the way in which we have processed your personal data then you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office as the UK supervisory authority.

Do we transfer data overseas?

No. Any data processed by 2CV for us is stored on UK servers.
