To what extent would the following short-term options (i.e. things that can be delivered in a shorter timescale) about bus information make you personally use bus services in Portsmouth more?

  • Real Time Information (RTI) at every bus stop has the biggest impact on bus usage; 59% of respondents it would increase their use of bus services ‘to a great extent’
  • ‘Better RTI on the bus such as delays to other buses or trains’ would increase bus usage ‘to a great extent’ for a majority of respondents (51%), whilst easier to understand route network has less appeal with 43% of respondents saying it would have impact their behaviour ‘to a great extent’
  • RTI has the greatest appeal across the board. However, respondents with a disability report a bigger impact; 66% selected ‘to a great extent’ compared to 57% of those with no disability
  • There is little variation in response between respondents with a disability and those without one in terms of ‘better RTI on buses’ or an ‘easier to understand route network’ increasing bus use ‘to a great extent’
