BSIP Post-pandemic bus travel: journey types not considered

Summary:

• Travelling to and from work (28%) and travelling for work (26%) are the journey types respondents are least likely to consider making by bus
• Around a fifth of respondents would not consider making other types of journey by bus; attending sports clubs (21%), travelling for education (20%), shopping (18%) and visiting friends and family (18%)
• Larger proportions of males would not consider using the bus for the majority of journey types whilst a larger proportion of females say they would consider using the bus for all journeys (+7 percentage points)

This chart shows that travelling to and from work (28%) and travelling for work (26%) are the journey types respondents are least likely to consider making by bus and that around a fifth of respondents would not consider making other types of journey by bus; attending sports clubs (21%), travelling for education (20%), shopping (18%) and visiting friends and family (18%)
