Which of the following best describes your working arrangements pre-pandemic?

Base: Business respondents (29*) | *caution small base

This chart shows that nearly two thirds of respondents report that ‘everyone was required to attend the workplace’ before the pandemic (62%) and a much smaller proportion of respondents worked in organisations that ‘allowed people to work flexibly between the office and other locations’ (17%), and at least 1 in 5 had ‘other’ arrangements (21%)
‘Other’ answers included permanent home working, remote working, working in multiple locations (home to yard), and that restrictions on working arrangements varied between job roles.

Which of the following best describes your current working arrangements?

Base: Business respondents (29*) | *caution small base

This chart shows that with current working arrangements, two thirds report ‘attending their workplace as usual’, whilst around 1 in 5 have ‘different work arrangements’ in place (21%) and a larger proportion of respondents report that staff are currently ‘attending the workplace as usual’ (66%) compared to the pre-pandemic levels (62%). It is possible that this difference is being driven by the proportion of respondents who work in face-to-face industries, such as retail and cleaning services, however, this finding should be considered cautiously as the base number of the groups is small.
