- Over three-quarters of respondents are supportive while only 10% of respondents are unsupportive of the proposal
- 86% of respondents who play football within Cosham/Portsmouth are ‘very supportive’
- Support is more divided amongst respondents who do not play football within the Cosham / Portsmouth area ; over half of respondents are ‘very supportive’ (58%), with a further 17% being ‘somewhat supportive’, indicating that the proposal is still supported by the majority of respondents within this category
- The majority of those who do not play football locally support the proposal however the level of support is not as strong; 58% are ‘very supportive’ and 17% are ‘somewhat supportive
- Overall support for the proposal is higher in the North of Portsmouth (88%) compared to in the South of Portsmouth (81%)
- The two most common themes identified within supportive comments are that the proposal will be beneficial to children / young people (31%) and that respondents want access to better facilities when using the King George V Playing Fields (31%)
- 23% of comments are in relation to a need for more or better football pitches within Portsmouth, 16% of respondents feel that the proposal will be positive for promoting physical health, 14% of respondents thought that the proposal would improve support for grassroots football, and 13% believe that the proposal will be beneficial to the Cosham area
