• Less than half of respondents know the eligibility criteria for becoming a local councillor
• Only 16% of respondents would consider getting involved in local politics and becoming a local councillor

This chart shows that:
58% of respondents did not know that anyone over 18 years old is eligible to become a local councillor if they are registered to vote in the area they wish to represent, or have lived, worked, or owned property there for at least 12 months before the election
42% of respondents did know that anyone over 18 years old is eligible to become a local councillor if they are registered to vote in the area they wish to represent, or have lived, worked, or owned property there for at least 12 months before the election
