Summary

  • Stand-up paddleboard is the most popular watersports activity for respondents with almost two-thirds expressing an interest (66%)
  • Kayaking comes a close second with 62% expressing an interest
  • Below that, around a third or slightly more are interested in open water rowing, kitesurfing and kiteboarding
  • Almost a fifth (19%) are not interested in taking part in any of these watersports
  • Respondents suggest a wide range of other sports or activities they would like to see at the new centre
  • The most popular activities, mentioned by at least 4% of the sample, are windsurfing/wingsurfing, open water swimming, foiling (all types) and dinghy sailing
  • 4% also comment that they would like the existing Eastney pool refurbished or replaced like for like
