E-scooter rental trial: Respondent demographics

Summary

• The largest volume of responses came from respondents living in the PO4 postcode district (28%)
• There was an over-representation of older respondents compared to younger respondents, with just 4% of the sample aged under 25, whereas this age group represents 18% of Portsmouth’s population based on 2011 census data. It is important to note the small base for this age group and to take caution when interpreting the results
• Slightly more males responded to the survey than females (53% compared to 47%) in line with 2011 census data, in which males and females each represent 50% of Portsmouth’s population
• The majority of respondents were White British (93%)
• The majority of respondents had no disability (88%)
• Of those respondents that reported a disability, the most common disability types were ‘mobility’ (49%) and ‘physical’ (42%)
