E-scooter rental trial: Overall

Summary

• Although nearly half of respondents have negative feelings towards rental e-scooters operating in Portsmouth, increasing from wave one (48% compared to 41%), the proportion of those who feel positive or very positive about the rental e-scooters has remained the same for wave two as for wave one (28% for both); a smaller proportion of respondents feel neutral
• The younger the respondent, the more likely they are to feel positive about the rental e-scooters. 50% of 16-24 year olds feel very positive, whereas 59% of those aged 65+ feel very negative about rental e-scooters
• Trial users are much more likely to feel positive about the rental e-scooters, with two thirds feeling very positive (66%), compared to 6% of non-users
• Double the proportion of males compared to females feel very positive about the rental e-scooters (24% compared to 12%)
