Objective/ policy and feedback from Solent Transport
- There is potential for the Breeze app to do much more, including real time availability of parking spaces and the best routes to car parks. In the past Portsmouth City Council could have been more positive about Breeze. Does this policy imply a more positive role for Breeze?
- Has the Workplace Parking Levy (WPL) been thought through? Are there enough relevant businesses in Portsmouth that would pay such a levy?
- Would the levy just be designed to raise revenue or would it have any efficacy in actually reducing the volume of traffic commuting into the city?
- Solent Transport is very keen to see shared forms of transport such as car clubs included in the parking strategy
- The electric ZEBRA buses are a very positive initiative that should be pursued further
Feedback from Transport for the South East (TfSE)
(in addition to their consultation response)
- TfSE welcomed the opportunity to comment on the Portsmouth draft parking strategy. In general, they welcomed the content and were happy to see the alignment with their work.
- They would be happy to discuss their feedback and any opportunities for further collaboration
