“I did occasionally use the old bus route into Port Solent and was often the only person on the bus. I feel a demand led bus would be better as it is rather demoralizing for the bus driver to not have any passengers. Also a waste of time and money.”
“We have been asking for a bus service to be reintroduced to Port Solent not just for ourselves but also for people in surrounding areas without vehicles who may be able to get a bus to the Waters Edge but are not capable of the long walk to the Boardwalk and return. Many would be OAPs wanting to use our lovely facilities such as the Odeon ‘Silver Screen’ film showings in the mornings and have lunch & shop.”
“Routes to Havant station, Portchester service and Portsmouth would be beneficial.”
“The DDRT concept is interesting but it fails fundamentally as proposed because the locations to travel to are too close. By the time that a DDRT arrives it is possible to get to that place by car.”
