Castle Road businesses: positive and negative impacts

Summary

• Whilst base sizes are very small here, businesses reported less vehicle traffic in the area and improved air quality as the top benefits of the road closure (86%)
• Castle Road being safer for walking and cycling was also a popular perceived positive impact (79%)
• Parking problems for customers and staff were reported by five businesses (83% of those reporting a negative impact), as were access issues for customers

This chart shows that the reduced number of vehicles in the area and improved air quality were the most popular positive impacts reported by businesses, both selected by 86%, the road being safer for walking and cycling was also popular amongst businesses (79%).
