Accompanied bus journeys – Super bus stops

• There were mixed opinions on whether super bus stops are even necessary – two of the residents accompanied on their bus journey felt it was more important to bring all the bus stops up to standard rather than spend money on super bus stops
• One respondent liked the idea, particularly if it helped to entertain her toddler whilst waiting for the bus
• However, the previous slide only shows 6% of respondents in the online sample not selecting something they’d like to see at a super bus stop

• Phone charging facilities would be handy whilst waiting (doesn’t have to be free)
• Would like to see green roofs on all bus stops – not just a super bus stop
• Could the lights be powered by solar panel?
• Live advertising screens or interactive screens (something for children to look at) at busy stops would make waiting a bit more interesting
• An emergency phone would be good for safety

• Make existing bus stops better rather than creating super bus stops. Get the basics right
• Not keen a green roof in case it attracted too many bees – “in the summer you might get swarmed by bees”.
• “I think they’d get abused”. Interactive screen in past got abused and smashed up. “Waste of money”

“It just feels like they’re probably not necessary, I just want somewhere to shelter from the rain and some decent information that gives me some confidence about when the next bus is coming…We’d be better off bringing them all up to a basic standard”.
