Proposed licence fees

Summary

  • Of the total sample, slightly more than half of respondents ‘slightly’ or ‘strongly agree’ with the proposed fee structure (51%)
  • Over half of all tenants and residents ‘slightly’ or ‘strongly agree’ with the proposed fee structure
  • Landlords show the most disagreement, with 72.5% of non-HMO landlords and 84% of HMO landlords ‘slightly’ or ‘strongly’ disagreeing with the proposed fee structure
  • Of respondents who ‘slightly’ or ‘strongly agree’ with the licensing fees, over a tenth feel it’s reasonable/ necessary (13%), or that the fee should be higher/ calculated differently (11%), while a tenth feel it encourages landlords to take responsibility and maintain standards (10%)
