Effects of HMO conditions on health

• Less than a tenth (8%) of respondents who live/have lived in a HMO in the last 12 months feel their health has been negatively affected by the condition of the property
• Of those who feel their health has been affected, around a quarter feel issues with mould are a factor, with 19% giving ‘stress/ mental health caused by condition of HMO’, ‘vermin’ and ‘catching an illness’ in the HMO as factors
